Russian hydropower generator HydroOGK invites applications for pre-qualification to replace a turbine-generator at the 346.4-MW Rybinskaya hydroelectric project on the Volga River. Responses are due July 3.
With 6.3 billion rubles (US$233.5 million) in funding from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), HydroOGK plans to seek bids for turbine-generators and switchgear for rehabilitation of plants in the 10,000-MW Volga-Kama hydropower cascade, including Rybinskaya. (HNN 7/20/07)
The utility previously invited pre-qualification by May 29 to supply three replacement turbines for the 458-MW Kamskaya project (HNN 4/30/08) and by June 26 to supply four replacement turbines for rehabilitation of the 2,541-MW Volzhskaya project. (HNN 5/13/08)
The six-unit Rybinskaya and the 110-MW Uglichskaya hydro project on the Volga are operated by a HydroOGK subsidiary, JSC Cascade of Verkhnevolzhskiye HPPs (VV), within the Volga-Kama hydropower cascade. (HNN 4/24/07)
In the current solicitation, the tender organizer, CJSC Energoservis-Konkurs, seeks to pre-qualify bidders to design, supply, and install a replacement turbine-generator for the 55-MW Unit 2 of Rybinskaya. The contract is to include auxiliary equipment and automatic controls, excluding the excitation system. Work is scheduled between the second quarter of 2010 and the fourth quarter of 2011.
