Russia’s HydroOGK seeks turbines for 2,541-MW Volzhskaya

Russian hydropower generator HydroOGK invites applications for pre-qualification to supply four replacement turbines for rehabilitation of the 2,541-MW Volzhskaya hydroelectric project. Responses are due June 26.

With 6.3 billion rubles (US$233.5 million) in funding from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), HydroOGK plans to seek bids for turbine-generators and switchgear for rehabilitation of plants in the 10,000-MW Volga-Kama hydropower cascade, including Volzhskaya. In the current solicitation, the tender organizer, CJSC Energoservis-Konkurs, seeks to pre-qualify bidders to design, supply, and install replacement turbines for Units 12, 5, 21, and 20 of Volzhskaya. Work is scheduled on Unit 12, December 2008-March 2010; Unit 5, April 2009-March 2011; Unit 21, August 2009-October 2011; and Unit 20, April 2010-May 2012.
