Russia’s HydroOGK seeks turbines for 458-MW Kamskaya

Russian hydropower generator HydroOGK invites applications for pre-qualification to supply three replacement turbines for rehabilitation of the 458-MW Kamskaya hydroelectric project. Responses are due May 12.

With 6.3 billion rubles (US$233.5 million) in funding from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), HydroOGK plans to seek bids for turbine-generators and switchgear for rehabilitation of hydropower plants of the 10,000-MW Volga-Kama hydropower cascade, including Kamskaya. On behalf of HydroOGK, the tender organizer, CJSC Energoservis-Konkurs intends to pre-qualify bidders to design, supply, and install three Kaplan turbines for Units 2, 9, and 22 of Kamskaya. Work is scheduled on Unit 9 September 2008-September 2009; Unit 22, January 2009-January 2010; and Unit 2 July 2009-June 2010.
