Russia’s RusHydro seeks turbine for 1,360-MW Saratovskaya

Russian hydropower generator OJS RusHydro invites applications for pre-qualification to replace a turbine at the 1,360-MW Saratovskaya hydroelectric project in the Volga-Kama hydropower cascade. Responses are due December 22.

With 6.3 billion rubles (US$233.5 million) in funding from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, RusHydro, the former HydroOGK, plans to seek bids for turbine-generators and switchgear for rehabilitation of plants in the 10,000-MW Volga-Kama cascade, including Saratovskaya. The utility recently awarded a contract to Russian equipment supplier Power Machines to supply two replacement turbine-generators for Saratovskaya. (HNN 7/2/08)

In the current solicitation, the tender organizer, CJSC Energoservis-Konkurs, seeks to pre-qualify bidders to refurbish the Kaplan turbine of Unit 8. The contract is to include supply of an adjustable-blade Kaplan turbine with auxiliary equipment and rotation frequency control subsystem. Work is scheduled between July 2010 and December 2011.
