Senegal agency seeks instrumentation for 250-MW Manantali, river

The multi-nation Senegal River management agency seeks bids to supply piezometers for the 250-MW Manantali Dam project in Mali as well as for the Senegal River delta in Mauritania and Senegal. Bids are due July 20, 2009.

Organisation pour la Mise en Valeur du Fleuve Senegal (OMVS), which includes Senegal, Guinea, Mali, and Mauritania, recently took bids for rehabilitation of hydraulic equipment at Manantali Dam as well as renovation of a water treatment plant. (HydroWorld 4/28/09)

In the current solicitation, OMVS seeks: rehabilitation of 10 piezometers and installation of two new ones upstream and downstream of Manantali in Mali; rehabilitation of seven piezometers and installation of two new ones on the right bank of the Senegal delta in Mauritania; and rehabilitation of seven piezometers and installation of two new ones on the left bank of the delta in Senegal.

Tender documents, in French, may be obtained from the addresses below for 100,000 Central French Africa francs (US$212). Bids are due by 10 a.m. July 20.
