Site visit extended for elevator work at 1,312-MW Glen Canyon

PAGE, Ariz., U.S. 2/16/12 (PennWell) — The Bureau of Reclamation has extended the date for site visits on modernization of six elevators at 1,312-MW Glen Canyon Dam on the Colorado River. Responses to the solicitation are still due March 9.

Site visits were extended to March 2 from February.

Reclamation seeks information on firms able to recommend modernization improvements to the elevators at Glen Canyon, near Page. The agency said it issued a sources sought notice as market research for planning purposes.

The six traction elevators were installed in the early 1960s, with controls modernized in 1987 that are now obsolete.

The sources sought notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering Solicitation No. R12SS40004 in the “Keyword/Solicitation #” box.
