Sweden utility seeks bids to build Hissmofors VI plant

Local utility Jamtkraft AB seeks bids to build and equip Hissmofors VI, a new hydroelectric plant on the Indalsalven River. Bids are due October 1.

Jamtkraft operates several hydroelectric projects including the 68-MW Hissmofors hydroelectric project, built in 1931 and rebuilt in 1994.

The utility currently seeks bids to build a new hydro station near Hissmofors with two identical Kaplan turbines and generators designed for flows of 200 cubic meters per second each and an estimated head of 18 meters. Work is to begin in July 2011 and be completed in November 2013.
