Swiss seek penstock valves for 14.4-MW Farettes

Hydropower operator Hydro Exploitation SA seeks bids to supply two 800-millimeter-diameter penstock valves for the 14.4-MW Farettes hydroelectric project in Switzerland’s Vaud Canton. Bid documents may be obtained until August 24, with bids due September 14.

Hydro Exploitation, which operates the project for Romande Energie, awarded a US$2.75 million contract in 2010 to EMCH & Berger SA to oversee construction of a new water supply conduit at Farettes. It also took bids that year for rehabilitation of two turbine-generators.

Hydro Exploitation currently seeks bids for design, manufacture, installation, and commissioning of the two penstock valves. Work is to be performed from March to December 2015.

Tender documents in French may be obtained from the address below until August 24. Bids, in French, are due by noon September 14.
