Innovative corrosion control sought for 140-MW Trinity
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers plans to seek bids to install an innovative corrosion control system at the Bureau of Reclamation’s 140-MW Trinity hydroelectric project on the Trinity River in California. A solicitation is expected to be issued about May 5, with bids to be due about May 17.
The Corps’ Engineering Research and Development Center plans to seek bids for installation of a demonstration scale electro-osmotic pulse system in the gate bonnet chamber at Trinity, to determine the feasibility of the system to stop water seepage through the concrete at the demonstration location, and to project its effectiveness for the complete gate bonnet structure and associated vertical shaft.
The Corps intends to negotiate a sole source, firm fixed-price purchase order to ElectroTech CP LLC under simplified acquisition procedures due to its patented technology of the wave form for use in concrete structures.
