Tanzania seeks studies, tender documents to build Kidunda Dam

The government of Tanzania invites expressions of interest from consultants to perform a feasibility study and prepare tender documents for construction of Kidunda Dam on the Rivu River. Responses are due March 31.

Tanzania’s Ministry of Water and Irrigation has set aside funds to implement a water sector development program including the Kidunda Dam work. (HNN 8/26/08) Last year, the government recruited consultants to help develop a related dam safety management program.

The government seeks a consultant to: prepare a feasibility study, environmental and social impact assessment and management plans, and dam safety management plans. The consultant also is to prepare outline design, a construction plan, tender documents, and terms of reference for construction supervision of the project.

Expressions of interest, marked �Expression of Interest for Feasibility Study and Preparation of Outline Design for the Proposed Kidunda Dam,� are due to the address below by 10 a.m. March 31. The ministry plans to send invitations to bid to a short list of candidates.
