Toshiba wins hydro generator contract for Sogamoso hydro project

Toshiba International Corporation announced that it has signed a contract to supply three 324MVA hydro power generators to Isagen S.A. E.S.P., a leading Colombian power generation company, in partnership with Mitsui & Co. Plant Systems Ltd. The generators will be installed at the Sogamoso hydro power plant in Santander state.

The project’s total cost is estimated at US$1.74 billion, and bond money will finance the first phase of construction. (HydroWorld 12/11/09)

Toshiba  has already supplied a total of 35 generators to Colombia. The new units are the largest capacity generators Toshiba has yet supplied in the Colombian market and will arrive on site at Sogamoso by January 2012. The plant will be commissioned by the end of 2013.
