Turbine testing sought for Bhutan’s 1,020-MW Tala

India’s Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL) seeks expressions of interest for field efficiency testing of six turbine-generators of the 1,020-MW Tala hydroelectric project in Bhutan. Responses are due April 13.

BHEL commissioned the six 170-MW vertical Pelton turbine-generator sets. Bhutan brought Tala on line in 2006 with India’s assistance. (HNN 6/25/07)
