Two hydro projects get their own pages on HydroWorld.com, more to come

Two hydro project pages are now available on HydroWorld.com, intended to provide a “one-stop shop” to learn about the 1,100-MW Site C and 11,200-MW Belo Monte projects.

The Hydro Group editors chose these facilities – the first in Canada and the second in Brazil — because there is active work ongoing at both, with contractors being named and units being placed on line. Both also will have significant effects on the countries in which they are being built.

These pages provide an image of the facilities, plus a map/aerial view. Details provided include owner, location, river system, capacity, dam type, operational date and more. A section of the page also lists companies under contract and the work they were hired to perform.

At the bottom of the page, a new feed provides access to articles published on HydroWorld.com that cover these projects, going back several years. With this feature, you don’t have to do a search of the site to find the most recent or comprehensive information on the project.

We are working to develop other pages for hydro projects to watch, so if you have a recommendation of a project, email elizabethi@pennwell.com.
