U.K. water agency seeks hydropower developers

Wales water agency Dwr Cymru Cyfyngedig (DCC) invites expressions of interest from firms to provide hydroelectric generation services to DCC’s asset management program in Wales, United Kingdom. Responses are due May 10.

DCC, also called Dwr Cymru Welsh Water, seeks firms to perform initial assessments, feasibility studies, detailed design, delivery, and installation of hydroelectric projects. The U.K. Environment Agency recently reported a six-fold increase in the number of hydropower projects planned in England and Wales since 2008.

The water agency plans to enter a five-year framework agreement with about four firms at a total cost of between 4 million and 6 million pounds (US$6.5 million and US$9.75 million).

Solicitation documents may be obtained from the address below until May 5. Expressions of interest in English are due May 10.
