U.S. again extends crane rehab bidding for 42.6-MW Albeni Falls

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers again extended the bidding deadline for intake and spillway crane rehabilitation at the 42.6-MW Albeni Falls hydroelectric project on the Pend Oreille River in Idaho. Bids now are due Aug. 3.

The Corps’ Seattle District previously called for bids by July 20 and July 6. The agency recently carried out other renovation work at Albeni Falls.

The Corps seeks rehabilitation of both intake and spillway cranes including new guard rail, access ladders, and gates; new platform, guard rail, and cable reel; new generator set; new main cab; new auxiliary cab for the intake crane; main hoist; trolley drive; and gantry drive. The work is valued at between $5 million and $10 million.
