MOBILE, Ala., U.S. 6/27/12 (PennWell) — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers again extended the deadline for bids to supply station service transformers for the 126-MW Buford and 73.4-MW West Point hydroelectric projects on the Chattahoochee River in Georgia and Alabama. Bids now are due July 9.
The Corps’ Mobile District previously called for bids for the work by June 13 and June 28. The Corps awarded a contract in 2010 with options to supply gas breakers for five projects including West Point.
In a solicitation reserved for small businesses, the Corps now seeks bids to supply, deliver, and possibly install four new station service transformers at Buford and two new station service transformers at West Point.
A solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering Solicitation No. W9127812R0031 in the “Keyword/Solicitation #” box.
