U.S. extends bid date for excitation systems at 50-MW Canyon Ferry

The Bureau of Reclamation’s Great Plains Regional Office has extended the deadline for bids to replace excitation systems at 50-MW Canyon Ferry Dam in Montana. Bids now are due Jan. 20.

Reclamation previously called for bids by Jan. 5. It took bids in July for stoplog guide removal at Canyon Ferry, which was built in 1954 on the Missouri River as part of the Pick-Sloan Missouri Basin Project.

Work is to include replacement of excitation systems with fully static digital excitation systems for Units 1-3 in Power Plant 2. The contractor also is to modify and electrically isolate three existing rotating DC exciters.

A solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering Solicitation No. R11PS60009 in the “Keyword/Solicitation #” box.

Bids now are due Jan. 20. For information, contact Alma Bergerson, Contracting Officer, Bureau of Reclamation, GP-3800, 316 N. 26th St., Billings, MT 59101; (1) 406-247-7801; E-mail: ec_helpdesk@nbc.gov.
