Dalles Hydropower Project

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has extended the deadline for bids to supply 19 transformers for the 1,780-MW Dalles Dam hydroelectric project on the Columbia River. Bids now are due Nov. 16.

The Corps’ Portland District previously called for bids by Nov. 2 and scheduled a site visit Oct. 14. It also called for bids to supply turbine headcovers and related equipment for the project. It took bids last year to upgrade the project’s fall protection system.

The Portland District now seeks bids to supply one Class II three-phase generator step-up transformer and 18 single-phase GSU transformers for The Dalles. Work is to include design, manufacture, factory testing, shipment, site movement, reassembly and field testing.

A solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering Solicitation No. W9127N15R0060 in the “Keyword/Solicitation #” box.

Bids now are due Nov. 16. For information, contact Gary Weir, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District, Contracting Division (CECT-NWP), P.O. Box 2946, Portland, OR 97208-2946; (1) 503-808-4624; E-mail: gary.weir@us.army.mil.
