U.S. extends bidding for hydro turbine guide bearings at 1,076.6-MW Bonneville Dam

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has extended the deadline for bids to supply hydro turbine guide bearings for the First Powerhouse of 1,076.6-MW Bonneville Dam in Oregon and Washington. Bids now are due March 7.

The Corps’ Portland District previously called for bids by Feb. 21.

The Corps’ Portland District awarded a contract in 2013 to Precision Machine and Supply Inc. to repair the turbine of Main Unit 11 in Bonneville’s Second Powerhouse. It also awarded a contract to Transformer Services Inc. to refurbish step-up transformers at the Second Powerhouse. Bonneville is a turbine design testing site for improvement of fish passage.
