U.S. extends bidding for renovation, operation, maintenance of 422-MW Hartwell hydro project

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has extended the deadline for bids for maintenance, repair, rehabilitation, renovation and operation of 422-MW Hartwell Dam on Georgia’s Savannah River. Bids now are due Feb. 25.

The Corps’ Savannah District previously called for bids by Oct. 21, 2014. The Corps awarded a contract to HDR Engineering Inc. in 2012 to explore automation upgrades at Hartwell and two other projects. It named Eaton Corp. in 2010 to supply electrical products and services to upgrade Hartwell.

In a solicitation set aside for small businesses, the Corps seeks bids for maintenance, repair, facility rehab/renovation and operation of Hartwell, including the project manager’s office, campgrounds and parks, boating access area, main dam, power plant, Clemson pump station, diversion dams and other project resources.

A solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering solicitation No. W912HN13R0033 in the “Keyword/Solicitation #” box.

Bids now are due by 11 a.m., Eastern time, Feb. 25. For information, contact Nikisha Weston, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah District, CESAS-CT, 100 W. Oglethorpe Ave., Savannah, GA 31402-0889; (1) 912-652-5102; E-mail: nikisha.weston@usace.army.mil.
