U.S. revises call for auxiliary boards for 42.6-MW Albeni Falls

The Corps of Engineers has revised its solicitation announcement for auxiliary board replacement at the 42.6-MW Albeni Falls hydroelectric project on the Pend Oreille River in Idaho. Bids are due Dec. 29, 2009.

The Corps’ Seattle District previously issued a pre-solicitation notice anticipating bids would be due Nov. 20. (HydroWorld 10/12/09) It seeks replacement of three main generating unit auxiliary boards and five ancillary auxiliary boards as well as relocation of the pump board and extension of dual source feeders to the station service board. The Corps recently carried out other renovation work at Albeni Falls. (Hydro Review, June 2008)

The contract is only open to HUBZone small businesses in distressed areas as determined by the Small Business Administration. For information, see the SBA Internet site, www.sba.gov.

The Corps said the full solicitation is to be available in December. A solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering Solicitation No. W912DW10R0010 in the “Keyword/Solicitation #” box.
