U.S. seeks air compressors for 130-MW Walter F. George hydro project

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks bids to supply two air compressors and controller for the 130-MW Walter F. George hydroelectric project on the Alabama River in Georgia and Alabama. Bids are due Feb. 28.

The Corps’ Mobile District awarded a contract in 2010 to Mary Helen Parkey to supply gas breakers to Walter F. George and to the 82-MW Allatoona project on Georgia’s Etowah River.

The current solicitation, which is set aside for small businesses, seeks supply and delivery of two fully enclosed 40-horsepower direct drive rotary screw air compressors to replace station service air compressors.

A solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering solicitation No. W9127813T0006 in the “Keyword/Solicitation #” box.
