U.S. seeks bids for tainter gate rehab at Fall Creek Dam, 80-MW Green Peter Dam

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks bids from small businesses for tainter gate rehab at Fall Creek Dam and 80-MW Green Peter Dam in Oregon. Bids are due in separate solicitations by Sept. 3.

The Corps’ Portland District previously announced site visits for the work, scheduled Aug. 7 and 8.

The Corps took bids in 2011 for sampling and abatement of asbestos and lead at 21 dams including Fall Creek, a flood control, navigation, and irrigation project on Fall Creek, and Green Peter, a hydroelectric project on the Middle Santiam River. Green Peter, one of 13 Corps dams in the Willamette River Basin, underwent a special stilling basin survey in 2011.

In a solicitation set aside for small businesses, the Corps seeks bids Sept. 3 for rehabilitation of one tainter gate at Fall Creek Dam with an option to rehabilitate a second. The work is valued at $1 million to $5 million.

A solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering Solicitation No. W9127N13R0021 in the “Keyword/Solicitation #” box. A site visit was scheduled Aug. 7.
