U.S. seeks firms for gates replacement at 80-MW Denison Dam hydro project

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks information on firms able to replace a flood gate and an emergency gate at the 80-MW Denison Dam hydroelectric project in Texas. Responses are due April 24.

The Corps last year awarded a contract to Alltech Engineering Corp. for design-build replacement of three flood gates and another contract to Voith Hydro to replace two turbine runners at Denison. It took bids in March for generator model validation testing at Denison and eight other Corps hydroelectric projects in Oklahoma and Texas.

In a sources sought notice, the Corps’ Tulsa District now seeks information on firms able to replace a flood gate and an emergency gate at Denison, which forms Texoma Lake on the Red River. Responses are to be used to help determine the type of solicitation to be issued for the work.

The sources sought notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering solicitation No. W912BV15R0040 in the “Keyword/Solicitation #” box.
