U.S. seeks firms to supply transformers for 1,780-MW Dalles Dam

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks information on firms able to supply 19 transformers for 1,780-MW Dalles Dam on the Columbia River. Responses are due July 22.

The Corps’ Portland District took bids in April to upgrade the fall protection system at The Dalles. It awarded a contract in March to Industrial Support Service LLC to refurbish a 35-ton tailrace gantry crane and another contract last year to McMillen LLC for fishway modifications at the project.

In a sources sought notice, the Portland District now seeks information on firms able to supply one Class II three-phase generator step-up transformer and 18 single-phase GSU transformers for The Dalles. Responses will be used to determine the potential sources of supply.

Work is to include design, manufacture, factory testing, shipment, site movement, reassembly and field testing.

The sources sought notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering Solicitation No. W9127N14R0056 in the “Keyword/Solicitation #” box.
