U.S. seeks firms to supply velocity meters for 120-MW Parker

BOULDER CITY, Nev., U.S. 2/28/12 (PennWell) — The Bureau of Reclamation seeks information on firms capable of supplying acoustic velocity meters for 120-MW Parker Dam on the Colorado River. Responses are due March 1.

Reclamation previously called for information by Feb. 23 from firms capable of controlling invasive mussels at Parker, in California and Arizona, and at 2,078-MW Hoover Dam and 255-MW Davis Dam. The agency awarded a contract in 2011 to Inland Potable Services Inc. to supply a trashrack cleaner at Parker.

Reclamation now seeks information on firms capable of providing and installing time-transit acoustic velocity meters in four 22-foot penstocks. It plans to use the information to determine whether to set aside the work for small business or to use an alternate procurement strategy.

A sources sought notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering Solicitation No. 12004LC in the “Keyword/Solicitation #” box.

Responses by mail or e-mail are due by March 1. For information, contact Dennis Campbell, Contract Specialist, Bureau of Reclamation – LC – Lower Colorado Regional Office, P.O. Box 61470 Boulder City, NV 89006; (1) 702-293-8569; E-mail: dlcampbell@usbr.gov.
