U.S. seeks fishway pump overhaul at 810-MW Lower Monumental hydro project

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks bids to refurbish fishway pump parts at 810-MW Lower Monumental Dam on the Snake River in Washington. Bids are due Feb. 25.

The Corps’ Walla Walla District awarded a contract in November to Normandeau Associates Inc. to perform fish counting services at Lower Monumental and seven other federal hydropower projects along the Columbia and Snake rivers. The Corps also named Western Electrical Services to perform breaker upgrades at Lower Monumental.

In a solicitation set aside for small businesses, the Walla Walla District now seeks bids for supervision, labor, material, and equipment to refurbish parts that have been removed from a 115-inch-diameter water pump. Work is to include sandblasting and coating all specified parts. The contractor also is to provide all equipment necessary to machine a 32-foot shaft and the outer diameter mating surface of a 127-inch diffuser.

A solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering Solicitation No. W912EF13Q0042 in the “Keyword/Solicitation #” box.

Bids are due Feb. 25. For information, contact Vicky Challis, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District, 201 N. 3rd Ave., Walla Walla, WA 99362-1876; (1) 509-527-7210; E-mail: vicky.r.challis@usace.army.mil.
