U.S. seeks generator step-up transformers for 1,780-MW Dalles Dam

Dalles Hydropower Project

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks bids to supply 19 transformers for 1,780-MW Dalles Dam on the Columbia River. Bids are due Nov. 2.

The Corps’ Portland District took information last year on firms able to perform the work. It also took bids to upgrade the fall protection system and awarded a contract to Industrial Support Service LLC to refurbish a 35-ton tailrace gantry crane at the project.

The Portland District now seeks bids to supply one Class II three-phase generator step-up transformer and 18 single-phase GSU transformers for The Dalles. Work is to include design, manufacture, factory testing, shipment, site movement, reassembly and field testing.

A solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering Solicitation No. W9127N15R0060 in the “Keyword/Solicitation #” box.
