U.S. seeks machine monitors for Colorado River hydro plants

The Bureau of Reclamation has updated a notice of its plans to seeks bids for machine monitors for its 86.4-MW Blue Mesa, 31.5-MW Crystal, and 173.334-MW Morrow Point hydropower plants, all in the 1,747.184-MW Colorado River Storage Project.

BuRec had expected to issue a solicitation in March. (HydroWorld 3/16/09) Its latest announcement updated the solicitation number and set a tentative response date of July 9, 2009.

The agency seeks a contractor to furnish machine monitors for five vertical-shaft hydroelectric generators in the three power plants, all on Colorado’s Gunnison River. The machine monitors can be individual units for each generator, or can be capable of monitoring two or more generators, BuRec said.
