The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks bids for babbitted bearing refurbishment and replacement at Corps hydroelectric projects in the Pacific Northwest. Bids are due Oct. 8.

The Corps awarded contracts in May for turbine guide bearings for the First Powerhouse of 1,076.6-MW Bonneville Dam and in 2013 for turbine guide bearing refurbishment at the 810-MW Lower Granite and 402-MW Dworshak hydropower plants.

In a solicitation set aside for small businesses, the Corps now seeks bids for an indefinite-delivery indefinite-quantity contract for babbitted bearing refurbishment and replacement at hydropower projects in the Corps’ Portland, Seattle and Walla Walla districts. The contract would cover turbine guide bearings, generator guide bearings and thrust bearings.

A solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering solicitation No. W9127N14R0016 in the “Keyword/Solicitation #” box.
