The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks bids to replace two turbine runners at the 80-MW Denison Dam hydroelectric project in Texas. A site visit is scheduled Oct. 16 with bids due Dec. 4.
Denison Dam forms Texoma Lake on the Red River in Texas. The Corps’ Tulsa District took bids in 2011 for events recording and warning equipment at Denison and seven other hydroelectric projects in Oklahoma and Texas.
The Tulsa District now seeks major rehabilitation of Units 1 and 2 at Denison including design, manufacture, testing, and installation of two Francis turbine runners; replacement of miscellaneous turbine mechanical components; turbine model testing; and other work. The contract is valued at $20 million to $30 million.
