U.S. seeks watershed modeling, assessment in New England

The Corps of Engineers seeks bids for watershed modeling and assessment services in New England and other states in the Northeast United States. Responses are due Oct. 23, 2009.

The Corps’ New England District proposes an indefinite delivery-indefinite quantity contract of one base year and four option years, with a $3 million ceiling over the life of the agreement. Services to be ordered will be no more than $600,000 during any one year.

Work is to include activity such as complex watershed and water quality monitoring and computer modeling, expert testimony, field sampling and analysis, analysis of existing and future water withdrawals, feasibility analysis of habitat improvements, hydrologic/hydraulic watershed and river analyses, and analysis of the impacts of water supply withdrawals and hydropower operations.

The work is to be performed mainly in New England, with some work in the broader Corps North Atlantic divisions.
