U.S. to seek boards, breakers at Chief Joseph, seeks bids for Albeni Falls

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks information on firms able to replace DC boards and breakers at 2,457.3-MW Chief Joseph Dam near Bridgeport, Wash. The Corps also said it seeks bids for boards and breakers at the 42.6-MW Albeni Falls hydroelectric project in Idaho.

The Corps’ Seattle District seeks information by Sept. 15 from small businesses about their capability to furnish and install a 125/250-volt DC system, a 24/48-volt DC system, and a 120-volt preferred AC system, including battery banks, switchboards, chargers, and inverters at Chief Joseph Dam. The Corps already is taking bids Sept. 14 to replace a substation at Chief Joseph, on the Columbia River.

The Corps issued a sources sought notice to determine whether to set aside a subsequent tender for small businesses for the Chief Joseph boards and breakers.

The sources sought notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering solicitation No. W68MD912077812 in the “Keyword/Solicitation #” box. Responses are due by e-mail by 2 p.m., Pacific time, Sept. 15 to Regi Lowery, Contract Specialist, at regi.lowery@usace.army.mil.

Bids due Oct. 3 for boards, breakers at 42.6-MW Albeni Falls

The Corps’ Seattle District set a bid due date of Oct. 3 for DC board and breaker replacements at 42.6-MW Albeni Falls on the Pend Oreille River in Idaho.

The Corps’ Seattle District previously expected to issue a solicitation in June for the Albeni Falls board and breaker replacements.

The unrestricted solicitation includes demolishing existing and furnishing new 115-VAC and 125-VDC panelboards, including conduit, cable tray, wiring, disconnects, transformers, switchboards, enclosures, annunciator panel, chargers, and inverters. The work is valued at $500,000 to $1 million.

A solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering Solicitation No. W912DW11R0016 in the “Keyword/Solicitation #” box. Bids are due Oct. 3.
