U.S. to seek stoplogs for 82-MW Robert F. Henry, 73.4-MW West Point

The Corps of Engineers plans to seek bids to supply stoplogs for the 82-MW Robert F. Henry and 73.4-MW West Point dams in Alabama and Georgia. Bids are expected to be due March 2, 2010.

Seven stoplogs for Robert F. Henry, on the Alabama River, are to be about five feet high and 52 feet long, weighing 24,000 pounds each. Ten stoplogs for West Point, on the Chattahoochee River, are to be about 4.5 feet high and 52 feet long, weighing 24,000 pounds each.

The solicitation, a 100 percent set-aside for small business, is to be available on the FedTeDS Internet site, www.fedteds.gov, about Jan. 27. A pre-solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering Solicitation No. W9127810R0040 in the “Keyword/Solicitation #” box.
