U.S. to seek submersible power cable for 980-MW McNary

WALLA WALLA, Wash., U.S. 12/9/11 (PennWell) — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers plans to seeks bids for submersible power cable for extended submerged barrier screens at 980-MW McNary Dam on the Columbia River in Oregon.

The Corps’ Walla Walla District recently announced it also plans to take bids for maintenance and rehabilitation of elevators at McNary, near Umatilla, Ore.

In a solicitation set aside for small business, the Corps now says it plans to purchase 3,000 feet of submersible cable to provide power and control capability to the extended submerged barrier screens at McNary.
