United States Society on Dams invites USSD members to make awards nominations

The United States Society on Dams is asking USSD members to make nominations for awards to be presented at the upcoming annual conference in California.

USSD will present several awards during the 2010 USSD Conference in Sacramento, Calif., in April. Society members are invited to make nominations for two of the awards.

The Lifetime Achievement Award will honor an individual whose lifetime of dedication and achievement has contributed significantly to the dam engineering profession.

The Excellence in the Constructed Project Award recognizes the significant contributions made to the dam community and to society through the construction, remediation or removal of a dam or water resources structure. The award will honor an individual or team of professionals who meet the challenges of the nation’s aging infrastructure in an era of limited financial resources and increasing environmental awareness.

Nomination forms and information on past award winners are posted on the USSD Awards page.

Also, visit the USSD homepage for more information about the 2010 conference.

Awards nominations must be submitted by March 1 to be considered.
