UPDATE – Dates for India’s Kotlibhels extended again

India’s National Hydroelectric Power Corp. (NHPC) again extended the deadlines to pre-qualify for civil works construction of three hydroelectric projects totaling 1,045 MW. Responses now are due September 22, 25, and 29.

The projects are 195-MW Kotlibhel 1A, 320-MW Kotlibhel 1B, and 530-MW Kotlibhel 2, all to be built in India’s Uttaranchal State. (HNN 9/1/06) Deadlines for obtaining pre-qualification documents for all three projects also were extended again.

Kotlibhel 1A: Pre-qualification documents now may be obtained until September 21. Applications for pre-qualification are due by 2 p.m. September 22. The pre-qualification document fee is 20,000 rupees or US$500.

Kotlibhel 1B: Pre-qualification documents now may be obtained until September 22. Applications for pre-qualification are due by 2 p.m. September 25. The pre-qualification document fee is 20,000 rupees or US$500.

Kotlibhel 2: Pre-qualification documents now may be obtained until September 28. Applications for pre-qualification are due by 2 p.m. September 29. The pre-qualification document fee is 40,000 rupees or US$1,000.

Pre-qualification documents for all three may be obtained from NHPC’s Internet site, www.nhpcindia.com, with notification to the address below and submission of the document fee with the pre-qualification application. Fees are payable by demand draft to National Hydroelectric Power Corp. Ltd. at Faridabad.
