UPDATE – Ecuador extends bidding to build 26-MW Ocana

Ecuador utility Empresa Generadora del Austro S.A. (ElecAustro) has extended the deadline for bids to build the 26-MW Ocana hydroelectric project in Ecuador’s Canar Province. Bids now are due November 5.

ElecAustro previously called for bidder pre-registration by August 17, followed by bids September 17. (HNN 5/30/07)

The hydro utility seeks bids for design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of electro-mechanical equipment, including a substation and supervisory control and data acquisition system; and construction of civil works including surge shaft, penstock, and transmission line.

Bid documents may be obtained from the utility Internet site, www.elecaustro.com.ec, or by e-mail request to ElecAustro at rleonp@elecaustro.com.ec. Prospective bidders were required to register by sending US$3,000 to the address below by August 17.

Bids, in Spanish, now are due by 4 p.m. November 5 to the address below.
