UPDATE – India developer seeks powerhouse for 120-MW Rangit 4

Jal Power Corp. Ltd. seeks bids for construction of a powerhouse and related works for the 120-MW Rangit Stage 4 hydroelectric project on India’s Rangit River. Bid documents must be obtained by March 10, with bids due April 30.

Jal Power previously invited bids to supply three 40-MW generating units and to construct the dam, intake, and desilting chambers of the run-of-river project in Sikkim State. (HNN 1/3/08)

The current solicitation calls for bids to construct a surge shaft, pressure shaft, powerhouse, tailrace channel, and switchyard. Rangit 4 features a 44-meter-tall concrete gravity dam, three 130-meter-long underground desilting chambers, and three intakes.

Bid documents may be obtained through March 10 from the address below for 10,000 rupees for Indian bidders or US$200 for foreign bidders. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled April 4. Bids are due by 2:30 p.m. April 30.
