UPDATE – India state extends deadlines for 14 projects totaling 93 MW

Uttarakhand Infrastructure Projects Co. (UIPC) has extended deadlines in solicitations for a total of 14 small hydroelectric projects in India’s Uttarakhand State totaling 93.45 MW. Bids are due September 30 and September 5.

Eight Ramganga, Sarju, Kosi projects

In one solicitation, UIPC, a joint venture of Uttarakhand State and Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services, now seeks expressions of interest by September 30 to develop eight small projects totaling 69 MW. Responses originally were due August 29. (HNN 8/8/08)

Four of the projects are to be developed under Eastern Ramganga Valley Hydel Projects Co. Private Ltd.: 18-MW Balgad, 5-MW Burthing, 4-MW Phulibagar, and 1-MW Birthi Fall. Three others are to be developed under Sarju Valley Hydel Projects Co. Private Ltd.: 15-MW Khutani, 8-MW Sheraghat, and 5.5-MW Balighat. The eighth project, 12.5-MW Bawas, is to be developed under Kosi Valley Hydel Power Co. Private Ltd.

UIPC said pre-feasibility reports and detailed survey investigations have been completed for all eight projects, whose major administrative approvals are also in place. Six Nayar, Bijapur projects

In the other solicitation, UIPC seeks bids by September 5 to develop six small projects totaling 24.45 MW.

Four of the projects are to be developed under Nayar Valley Hydel Power Co. Private Ltd.: 17-MW Nayar, 2.25-MW Biyaligaon, 2-MW Santoodhar 1, and 2-MW Santoodhar 2. Two others are to be developed under Bijapur Power Co. Private Ltd.: 1-MW Purkul and 200-kW Bijapur. UIPC said detailed project reports are available for those projects, which also have obtained major administrative approvals.

Bid documents may be obtained until August 31 from the address below for the Nayar Valley projects for 25,000 rupees (US$582) plus 12.5 percent tax, and for the Bijapur Power projects for 10,000 rupees (US$233) plus tax. Payment is to be by demand draft to Uttarakhand Infrastructure Projects Co. Pvt. Ltd. at Dehradun.
