Uruguay engineering school seeks wave-making machine

MONTEVIDEO, Uruguay 12/7/11 (PennWell) — The engineering faculty of Uruguay’s Universidad de la Republica seeks bids to supply a wave-making machine. Bids are due December 15.

The faculty of the university’s institute of fluid mechanics and environmental engineering, Instituto de Mecanica de Fluidos e Ingenieria Ambiental, seeks a “wave maker with dynamic absorption” for its URUWAVE program to evaluate utilization of the energy of waves in Uruguay.

Bidders are to provide their qualifications including experience in manufacturing wave makers. The university is waiving a margin of preference for domestically manufactured equipment.
