U.S. again seeks submersible cable at 980-MW McNary

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers again seeks bids to supply submersible cable for 980-MW McNary Dam on the Columbia River. Bids are due October 24.

The Corps’ Walla Walla District called for bids in February for submersible power cable for extended submerged barrier screens at McNary. The Corps awarded a contract in September to M.J. Hughes Construction Inc. to install concrete bulkheads in a juvenile fish collection channel at McNary.

The Walla Walla District now has issued a new solicitation to small businesses seeking specialized cable for motors of the extended submersible barrier screens at McNary. It seeks 3,000 feet of submersible 4-c 14 AWG water blocked cable delivered by Feb. 28, 2013.

A solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering Solicitation No. W912EF13Q0002 in the “Keyword/Solicitation #” box.

Bids are due Oct. 24. For information, contact Julie Morris, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District, 201 N. 3rd Ave., Walla Walla, WA 99362-1876; (1) 509-527-7220; E-mail: julie.m.morris@usace.army.mil.
