U.S. extends bidding for bulkhead gates for 428-MW Hungry Horse hydroelectric project

The Bureau of Reclamation has extended the deadline for bids from small businesses to supply two river outlet bulkhead gates for 428-MW Hungry Horse hydroelectric project in Montana. Bids now are due Jan. 23.

Reclamation previously called for bids by Jan. 15. It took bids in December for turbine runner cavitation repair at Hungry Horse, on the south fork of Flathead River. The project features a 564-foot-tall concrete dam completed in 1953 and a powerhouse with four units uprated and overhauled between 1990 and 1993.

In a solicitation set aside for small businesses, the agency now seeks bids to supply two river outlet bulkhead gates for Hungry Horse.

A solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering solicitation No. R13PS10011 in the “Keyword/Solicitation #” box.

Bids now are due Jan. 23. For information, contact Misty Gates, Contract Specialist, Bureau of Reclamation – PN – Regional Office, 1150 N. Curtis Road, Suite 100, Boise, ID 83706; (1) 208-378-5079; E-mail: mgates@usbr.gov.
