U.S. seeks firms to refurbish penstock gates at 120-MW Parker

The Bureau of Reclamation seeks information on firms capable of painting penstock gates and refurbishing fixed-wheel gate assemblies at 120-MW Parker Dam on the Colorado River. Responses are due Dec. 17.

Reclamation previously said it plans to seek bids to supply acoustic velocity meters for Parker, on the California-Arizona border.

Reclamation’s Boulder City office now seeks information on firms capable of painting three fixed-wheel penstock gates and refurbishing 24 fixed-wheel assemblies per gate. The work is expected to cost from $1 million to $5 million.

Responses are to help the agency determine its procurement strategy.
