U.S. to seek remote breaker racking systems at 6,809-MW Grand Coulee hydropower complex

The Bureau of Reclamation seeks information on firms able to supply remote breaker racking systems and breaker remote switch operator systems at the 6,809-MW Grand Coulee hydroelectric project. Responses are due Jan. 15.

Reclamation recruited firms in 2012 to refurbish drum gates and to replace switchyard relays and install a communication system at Grand Coulee on the Columbia River in Washington.

The agency now seeks information on firms able to supply breaker remote racking systems (rotary and extraction type) and remote switch operators (actuators) for the project. It plans to use responses to a sources sought notice to determine the type of solicitation for the work.

The sources sought notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering Solicitation No. R13PS10015 in the “Keyword/Solicitation #” box.
