U.S. to seek submersible cable at 980-MW McNary

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers plans to seek bids to supply submersible cable for 980-MW McNary Dam on the Columbia River.

The Corps’ Walla Walla District called for bids in February for submersible power cable for extended submerged barrier screens at McNary. The Corps awarded a contract in September to M.J. Hughes Construction Inc. to install concrete bulkheads in a juvenile fish collection channel at McNary.

The Walla Walla District now says it plans to seek submersible cable for McNary that is to be specified in a subsequent solicitation to small businesses.

A pre-solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering Solicitation No. W912EF13Q0002 in the “Keyword/Solicitation #” box.
