USSD issues call for papers for 2017 annual meeting

The United States Society on Dams (USSD) has issued a call for papers for its 2017 Annual Meeting, being held April 3-7 in Anaheim, Calif.

Abstracts for papers are due Aug. 1.

It’s a Small World: Managing Our Water Resources is the conference theme, and authors are asked to submit abstracts that generally fall within the scope of this theme or correspond to topics addressed by the USSD Technical Committees.

“Young professionals (under age 35) are encouraged to submit abstracts and will receive a reduced conference registration fee,” says Gene Guilford, executive director of USSD.

All presenters, including those in oral sessions and the power session, are strongly encouraged to prepare a paper; the planning committee will favor acceptance of abstracts from authors who indicate they will prepare a paper, USSD says.

Deadlines and relevant dates are:

− Authors notified: Aug. 24
− Draft papers due: Oct. 21
− Review comments on drafts completed: Dec. 2
− Final papers to USSD: Feb. 1, 2017

All papers will be published in the electronic Conference Proceedings.
