Utility qualifies equipment suppliers for French hydro projects

Electricite de France (EDF) invites equipment suppliers to qualify to refurbish or replace governors, voltage regulation, and excitation systems of projects in the French utility’s hydroelectric system.

The EDF solicitations are the latest in a series seeking equipment and services to refurbish its hydro projects. In January EDF renewed its qualification system for companies to supply about 50 turbine-generators and other equipment over five years to hydro projects in its system. (HydroWorld 1/29/10)

The utility said it envisions restoration over ten years of the governor, voltage regulation, and excitation systems of the hydroelectric projects in its portfolio. It said it intends to qualify companies that can respond to ongoing requests for work.
