Venezuela’s 514-MW Fabricio Ojeda hydropower project on line soon

The first unit of Venezuela’s 514-MW Fabricio Ojeda hydroelectric plant will come on line in July, according to state-owned utility Corporacion Electrica Nacional (Corpoelec).

The unit is the first of Fabricio Ojeda‘s two 257 MW Alstom Power-produced hydro turbine. Corpoelec said the second will be operational later this year.

The project is being built on the existing La Vueltosa Dam on the Camburito River in the state of Merida.
