Vietnam builder to construct 18-MW Daksrong

Vietnam hydropower constructor Cavico Corp. said two of its subsidiaries have signed a contract to build the 18-MW Daksrong hydroelectric project in Vietnam’s Gia Lai Province.

Cavico said its units, Energy Construction Joint Stock Co. and Cavico Mining &Construction Co., signed a US$3.5 million contract April 3 with project investor Daksrong Joint Stock Co.

The work, to take 11 months, includes construction of a spillway, dam, intake gates, water channel, and pressure tank. Total project investment is US$20 million.
